We are an organization that promotes the empowerment of the less privileged in our society especially in Africa with skills acquisition, resources, and support for them to be self-reliant and financially independent.
A world in which all Africans are educated beyond basic level and enjoy economic inclusion.
To support development in Africa through access to quality education and economic opportunities.
To provide sustainable and life-changing interventions, which significantly reduces illiteracy in under-represented children while promoting economic equality in Africa.
Serving others by listening and leading: Our leadership in the sector is informed by listening deeply to the needs of frontline nonprofits and seeking insights from many perspectives.
Getting things done, together: We can’t do this work alone—and we wouldn’t want to. With the combined knowledge and power of our dynamic networks and trusted partners, we share insights and develop real-world solutions to get results that matter.
Earning trust in everything we do: We are committed to acting with integrity in every aspect of our work, every day.
Centering equity in all our work: In pursuit of a more civil and just society, we embed equity, and inclusion throughout our organization and the ways we carry out our mission.
Honoring our community: Through our culture, we celebrate each other’s victories and have each other’s backs—which helps us build a stronger team, a thriving sector, and a better future for all.
We focus on a handful of key areas where we know we can have the most impact.
Growing Inequality: The most recent United Nations Human Development Report puts nine out of the world’s 10 poorest countries in Africa. At the same time, global inequality is worsening. The richest 1% own nearly two-thirds of all the world’s newly created wealth since 2020.
PAAF currently is in West Africa to achieve sustainable livelihoods and healthy lives for all, in a changing climate. We work with local staff and partners on a range of programs amongst rural communities, focused on education and self-empowerment.
